Ever since 930 AD a fortified stronghold has stood on this site and the castle is steeped in history including the 1916 Easter uprising. The present day castle is a major tourist attractions and at times still functions as a meeting point for heads of state

Trinity College
Trinity college has a four hundred year history and offers so much for the visitor in the way of history, arcitecture, art and the world famous book of kells. Written around the year 800 AD it is one of the most beautifully illuminated manuscripts in the world.
